BNP leader Nick Griffin has escaped sanction after penning a tweet which contained the home address of a gay couple who recently won a landmark court ruling after being discriminated against by a Christian B&B owner.
Michael Black and John Morgan were turned away from the guesthouse by its owner, who was later prosecuted for discrimination… prompting Griffin to urge his Twitter followers to stage a demonstration outside the couple’s home.
Black decided against lodging a formal complaint however as no protest ever materialised, he told BBC News: “The tweet was only up for a short time, it did not give a specific time... and nobody came."
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "Following a police investigation and advice from the Crown Prosecution Service no criminal offences were identified."
The B&B owner, Susanne Wilkinson, is currently pursuing an appeal against a £1,800 fine levied against her.
