Google has introduced a fresh look for its mobile phone homepage, incorporating a new hidden sidebar accessible via a new three line menu bar.
This gives access to Google services such as images, Maps, YouTube, News, Gmail, Documents, Calendar, Translate, Books, Blogger, Reader, Finance, Photos and Video to enable browsers to ‘access Google products faster’.
Users who are signed up with Google+ will also receive notifications direct from the social network.
Responses to the new page have been largely positive with commentator Joshua Kiley remarking: “This unified look across Google products makes them easier to use, since you don’t have to relearn the interface with each new product.”
Others were critical of the ‘ugly’ black bar which remains on the web version of Google’s homepage.
