User-centric website design for Together For Short Lives goes live

UK palliative care charity Together for Short Lives has redesigned its website, in a bid to make it the ‘go to place’ that will support and inform parents and professionals.

Designed by digital agency tictoc, the site has been built around a user-centric strategy which will aim to offer information on palliative care for both parents and professionals, as well as information about the charity, while members of Together for Short Lives will be able to access a dedicated area featuring new functionality.

Users will be able to make downloads, donate or sign up for an event look-up service, while the use of a tagging system will offer clear information.

A dedicated family section will also aim to help with the journey from diagnosis onwards, including bereavement and signposting helpful information to parents.

Myra Johnson, communications director from Together for Short Lives said: “Finding accurate and accessible information about children’s palliative care can be hard for families and professionals working in the field. It is still a relatively new specialty and it’s hard to know where to go for help and information. Many parents of children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions tell us that they really struggle to find the information and support they need; and this is especially tough for parents whose child has just been diagnosed. We hope that our new website will provide all families with a “one stop shop” for the information they need.”

Melanie Russell, director of tictoc added: “The priorities for the new site are to increase overall user engagement, improve visibility of donations and encourage better support signposting of services for families. A bespoke CMS has also been introduced to improve staff efficiency and enable the organisation to manage its member database function.”
