An £85 million yacht, built by Dutch shipyards De Vries Scheepsbouw, has been impounded in Amsterdam over a dispute with the yacht’s designer Philippe Starck.
Starck claims he still is owed part of his fee for his work on the vessel. He claims he and Jobs agreed that he would take six per cent of the vessel’s worth, which amounts to £4.9 million, of which £2.4 million has not been paid.
Starck’s fee was verbally agreed with the Apple founder, however no formal contract was ever signed.
Speaking before the dispute Starck said: “Steve and I shared the same idea about the elegance of the minimal, the elegance of work well done.”
