A spoof Kleenex ad featuring Team GB’s Olympic athletes has been voted this week’s Chip Shop Awards ‘Ad of the Week’.
In the run-up to the entry deadline on 8 March, The Chip Shop Awards website is carrying out a weekly public vote to recognise some of the best ads entered so far.
Since 2003, the international creative awards scheme with no limits or rules has produced some of the cleverest, funniest, and worst taste advertising and design ever seen. As the awards are all about ideas the work does not need to have run and the creator need not work directly for the client.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of The Chip Shop Awards, and to mark such a milestone the event plans to be bigger and better than ever before.
Our first ‘Ad of the Week’ was entered into the ‘Press Advert’ category and created by Nick Brown at nbdesign, the spoof Kleenex ad entitled Great Bubblin’ the ad features the likes of Jessica Ennis, Sir Chris Hoy, and Louis Smith crying during the 2012 Olympic Games and includes the apt strapline ‘Let it out’.
As usual with The Chip Shop Awards there are two judging mechanisms, our panel of creative directors who will peruse the 2013 entries and choose the most deserving entries for this year’s Chip trophies, and the public who will vote to decide who wins ‘Ad of the Week’ over the next few weeks.
Voting is now open for next Friday’s ‘Ad of the Week’ so make sure you pick your favourite now.
Chip Shop Awards categories include Best Use of Shocking Copy, Best Politically Incorrect, Best Remake of an Existing Advert, Best App, and Best Self Promotion to name a few.
If you’ve got a great Chip Shop idea and want to in with a chance being our ‘Ad of the Week’ or win a Chip Shop Award for real then get your entries in by 8 March.
