John Lewis strikes deal with Collect+ to allow customers to pick up goods from petrol stations and corner shops

John Lewis has announced a new deal with Collect+ Courier Services, which will allow its online customers to collect orders from local newsagents, corner shops and petrol stations.

The £3 “click-and-collect” service will be trialed from Autumn 2013 as John Lewis aims to drive expansion across the UK without opening any new stores.

Karen Dracou, head of omni-channel development at John Lewis, said: “Orders using click and collect have nearly doubled over the past year, and accounted for an impressive 35 per cent of online sales over the Christmas period, so we know that customers are looking for ever-more convenient ways of shopping with us.”

Collect+ has over 5,000 sites in its UK network and already works with retailers including Amazon, House of Fraser, Littlewoods, Very.co.uk and Asos.
