The Daily Mirror has signed former Mail on Sunday TV columnist Ian Hyland to launch a new weekly TV column this Tuesday, following hot on the heels of former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott and Carole Malone.
It is the fourth national newspaper role which Hyland, a regular guest on TV and radio, has held following stints at the Sunday Mirror, News of the World and the Mail on Sunday as well as a series
Hyland said: "I am thrilled to be joining Lloyd Embley and Peter Willis and their great team at the Daily Mirror. I can't wait to get my teeth stuck into the programmes and personalities that we endure and enjoy in equal measure. I trust the TV industry will be just as happy to see me in the Mirror every Tuesday."
Lloyd Embley, editor-in-chief of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and Sunday People, said: "I am absolutely delighted that Ian Hyland is joining the Daily Mirror - he is a fantastic signing. The Mail on Sunday describe him as Britain's best TV columnist and, on this occasion, I have to agree. His razor-sharp wit and candid, cutting appraisals are compelling reading. I am very happy that he will be sharing them with Mirror readers from now on."
