The Mary Rose Trust has engaged direct marketing agency TDA to build a website encouraging people to support the conservation of Henry VIII’s flagship the Mary Rose.
TDA has been briefed to create a site that not only share’s the ship’s history but also helps to deliver the charity’s fundraising goals.
The new website follows the creation of a new purpose-built museum for the Mary Rose opening in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard this spring, the charity hopes the renewed public interest in the historic warship will present an opportunity for it to develop its fundraising activity.
Head of operations at the Mary Rose Trust, Paul Griffiths, commented: “Many people considering a trip to the museum will look at the website first. We want to capture their imagination, and show that it is an exciting, family-friendly destination…We need to continue generating revenue if we are to protect this national treasure for future generations to enjoy and learn from.”
Andrea Lee, account director at TDA, added: “The website provides an engaging framework, encouraging people to interact with the content, share the story of the Mary Rose and support the Trust’s work.”
