SPAM has extended its brand range with the release of its special chocolate Easter egg, which has included bite sized chocolate-coated pieces of meat.
The egg included chocolate covered chopped pork and ham, which came from a product development workshop, the brand explained.
Liz Dee, brand manager for the SPAM, claimed that the egg was ‘a natural development’ for the tinned meat brand, taking it into the 21st Century: “Chocolate and meat pairings are already served in many top restaurants around the world, but it was actually the Aztecs who first came up with the concept many centuries ago.”
She added: “SPAM and Chocolate is a real taste sensation that’s been confirmed by UK SPAM fans and we can’t wait to see how our new Easter Egg goes down with the general public. I’m sure it will appeal to choco-carnivores everywhere!”
The egg will be available in supermarkets across the UK from today (1 April).
