British Airways partnered with Langham Hotels, London fashion label PPQ, and British model Georgia May Jagger for a special event on board its new Boeing 777-300ER celebrating the airlines long history of flying between the UK and Australia.

The event promoted the news that from April passengers travelling between London and Sydney will fly on the new aircraft, which is the latest addition to the BA fleet. In addition, the Australian service will now fly into Terminal 5, British Airways’ home at London Heathrow, to allow for smoother connections with BA’s European network.

The latest event comes after British Airways launched its new summer schedule with Myleene Klass and unveiled former Pussycat Dolls lead singer and X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger as the face of its new Moscow route.

Speaking of her experience with the airline, Jagger said: “I'm always happy to support British Airways. It's great to be here for this event and at such an exciting time for Australia. I love coming to Australia and thanks to British Airways’ fantastic style and service the journey from the UK was a joy.”

The event was held in British Airways Club World cabin where guests were treated to a taste of the new Tiffin at The Langham afternoon tea, which will also be served on board the aircraft. London-based PPQ then staged a fashion show through the aisles of the cabin featuring the labels AW13 collection, Bizarre Bazaar, which was most recently showcased at London Fashion Week.

PPQ co-founder Percy Parker commented: “I was very excited to be approached by British Airways to take part in this event as it is a great marriage between British heritage and the energy of modern UK. It was great to showcase our Autumn Winter collection as our first ever show in Australia, and to do so on board a British Airways plane just made it even more special.”

Nicole Backo, British Airways regional general manager, South West Pacific, added: “British Airways is incredibly proud of our heritage here in Australia and with these new changes coming into effect we are very excited about our new customer proposition.”
