Cicero Group and Yatterbox have announced that they are launching a joint venture, in order to create a digital political offering.
The communications agency Cicero Group and the online political monitoring company Yatterbox have suggested that their new venture will track and analyse the social media posts from all UK politicians.
Jeremy Swan, chief executive of Cicero Group, says: “Around 65 per cent of MPs are now on social media networks such as Twitter. Politicians are increasingly discussing policy issues online and it is therefore imperative that companies monitor this information and are able to navigate and analyse the complexities of the digital policy landscape.
“This exciting joint venture will help companies to do just that and everyone at Cicero looks forward to welcoming the Yatterbox team on board.”
Matt Freckelton, managing director of Yatterbox, said: “Our research found that during 2012 the digital output of MPs was equivalent to 12 times the volume of the word count of War and Peace. We predict that during 2013 politicians will post a total of 5.5m social media posts.”
The new offering will also access to Yatterbox’s innovative online monitoring platform.
