House of Cards author Michael Dobbs has announced that he is collaborating with the writer of Danish political drama Borgen, Adam Price, to produce a ‘very major project’ for the BBC.
Scheduled to hit the small screen next year the project is shrouded in secrecy but Dobbs, a Conservative peer, expressed an interest in telling the ‘real story’ of Denis Thatcher.
The late-husband of former PM Margaret Thatcher is described by Dobbs as a ‘brilliant, brilliant character to base a play on’.
Dobbs has recently been thrust back into the limelight after his political dramatization, first aired by the BBC in the 1990’s, was picked up by Netflix for a remake starring Kevin Spacey.
