New research has found that almost half (49 per cent) of marketers open and reply to emails in meetings, while 30 per cent check their texts and 15 per cent use social media.
The poll of 300 in-house marketers by Pure360 found that 18 per cent admit to taking phone calls during meetings.
Abi Jacks, head of marketing at Pure360, said: “Our research demonstrates how marketers up and down the country are under increasing time pressures. With technology creeping into meetings more and more, marketers need to give themselves the space for creativity.
“This also shows the ongoing high value placed on email in the workplace, sitting above both SMS and social media.”
