Hi-Tec has seen an increase in traffic from tablets and smartphones

Sportswear brand Hi-Tec has unveiled a new mobile e-commerce site following an increase in website traffic from smartphones and tablets.

Hi-Tec worked with Yorkshire-based digital agency 9xb.com to create the platform which the brand hopes will help it to connect better with its active audience.

“Most retailers have seen a rise in the number of customers using mobile devices to shop but the nature of our audience means this trend has been particularly significant in our website analytics. As a brand that has been developed specifically to inspire people to enjoy the great outdoors we wanted to create a mobile site that would help us to connect effectively with active consumers,” commented Helen Durant, UK marketing director for Hi-Tec.

9xb.com has been working with the brand for six years since creating a website to coincide with Hi-Tec’s ‘Inspired By Life’ campaign. The e-commerce site has been designed to allow easy access to brand and product information as well as making purchasing simpler.

John Young at 9xb.com added: “Analysis of website traffic prompted a complete rethink about how Hi-Tec was engaging with online audiences and we have worked quickly to develop mobile sites that balance brand building with consumer friendly content for people who are looking for quick access to information on the go…the fact that Hi-Tec’s data demonstrated a much higher than average spike shows that they already have a good online relationship with active consumers. The mobile sites are intended to enhance that relationship and expand the audience further.”

Following the creation of the e-commerce platform 9xb.com has also been commissioned to develop a mobile site for Hi-Tec’s sister brand Magnum Boots which is due to launch this summer.
