Former News of the World editor and PM spin doctor Andy Coulson has pleaded not guilty to charges related to phone hacking and alleged payments to public officials at Southwark Crown Court.
The news follows not guilty pleas on Wednesday from former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks and a number of others on charges related to phone hacking, payments to public officials and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Coulson was editor of the News of the World between 2003 and 2007 and went on to become David Cameron's communications director. He quit in 2011 amid allegations of phone hacking and alleged illegal practices at the title.
The News of the World was scrapped by News International in July 2011 in the aftermath of the revelations.
