Sainsbury’s announces appointment of head of brand communications; head of insight and category manager for advertising and media

Sainsbury’s has announced three additions to its marketing team: head of brand communications; head of insight and category manager for advertising and media.

Mark Given is set to join Sainsbury's as the newly created role of head of brand communications. He joins from the role of head of sponsorship at O2.

Alex Owens is joining as head of insight, having previously been head of strategy at Lloyds Banking Group.

Sophia Weir will hold the role of category manager for advertising and media, joining from her role as business director at Mindshare.

All three will start their new roles in January 2013.

Sarah Warby, Sainsbury's marketing director, said: "Mark, Alex and Sophia are great additions to the team, and will help us continue to deliver competitive advantage through efficient and integrated marketing campaigns, under the banner of Live Well for Less.”
