Sally Bercow deletes Twitter account

Sally Bercow’s Twitter account has been deleted after it was hacked; during the same week that her lawyer advised her to stop tweeting.

The wife of the Speaker of the House of Commons has come under fire on the social media network recently for naming Lord McAlpine, and then naming a schoolgirl who ran away with her teacher, an act which could be seen as contempt of court as it is contrary to Section 39 of the Children and Young Persons Act.

If found in breach, Bercow could be fined £5,000 for naming the girl.

Last night, Bercow tweeted: “Looking at tweets but (sadly) can't reply (#lawyerswhippedmyass #asdidMrB). So text/email/DM me if you're a mate. Hope 2 b back soon.xx”

However, later a tweet was sent reading "Hello 1000s of followers (funking lunatics). Stupid woman - password softearev.[sic]”, according to the Telegraph.

It is not known if the account was deleted by the hacker, or on the advice of her lawyers.
