The app has been designed with five-a-side and seven-a-side teams in mind

Lucozade Powerleague has worked with creative agency Dog Digital to launch a new five-a-side football Facebook app, MyTeam.

The app allows users to connect with teammates and friends to organise matches, access league tables, and upcoming fixtures in a bid to encourage more off-pitch interaction amongst players.

MyTeam is predominately designed with five-a-side and seven-a-side teams in mind as each team can create their own page to organise matches and scout out other teams pre-match. Additional features include a photo gallery specific to each Lucozade Powerleague centre, encouraging further sharing by players.

MyTeam has been built to tie in with Facebook’s event system allowing users to send out Lucozade Powerleague football invites through their normal Facebook interface.
The app currently list all 44 of the Lucozade Powerleague centres across the UK.

Sarah Jane Thompson, from Lucozade Powerleague, commented: “Many of our players are as passionate about their football off the pitch as they are on it. Lots of them already use social media to share their five-a-side activities, so it was about harnessing that passion under the Lucozade Powerleague banner, as well as adding value to our customers’ experiences of playing in our leagues.

“Dog helped us to create a solution that offers the perfect look and feel for our target audience, while effortlessly utilising Facebook’s slick functionality. We’ve only had positive feedback so far from both players and our own staff, and there is lots of scope for developing the app further.”

Business development director of Dog Digital, David Hamilton, added: “The immediate reaction to the app has been fantastic and we hope that Powerleague players nationwide now see a positive change in the way they are able to organise their matches and share their experiences.”
