The John Lewis Christmas advert telling the story of one Snowman’s journey to give his Snowlady a gift has inspired children’s book publisher Noisy Crow to create a picture book.
Kate Wilson from Noisy Crow wrote the rhyming text for the book, which will be entitled The Snowman’s Journey, within two days of seeing the advert. It will be sold exclusively by John Lewis from today, 1 December.
It will also feature a free digital audio reading which will generate a reading of the story, complete with sound effects for tablet devices, by The King’s Speech actor Freya Wilson.
Speaking to the Telegraph Wilson said of the project: “I was one of the millions of people who went to YouTube to watch the John Lewis 2012 advert, and that's when I thought it would make a terrific picture book.
“It's a very simple story of an adventurous and difficult journey, with love at its heart, that everyone can understand, whether they're an adult or a child."
