Thousands of Instagram’s near 13m Twitter followers have been getting hot under the collar after the photo sharing portal opted to abruptly curtail its support for its own Twitter app.
The move means photos hosted on Instagram will no longer appear on Twitter feeds, with users presented by a bland text link instead.
Amongst those to air their irritation was Jesse Cartwright @jesseswag_2012, who tweeted: ‘Obviously #Instagram #Hashtags are not working like what is the point of Instagram now?’
John Roberts, @pdxmobile, felt that the tale may yet have a happy ending however, remarking: ‘Twitter and Instagram will be working as before sooner, not later. Neither one wins by screwing the other’.
Alfredo Flores, @Alfredoflores, stating simply: ‘Annoyed at Instagram for getting rid of the twitter integration. I hate actually clicking the Instagram link to view a photo. ‘ earning him 4,473 times retweets.
