Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Lévy interacts with his 2013 message giving it a human touch

Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Lévy has released his now traditional New Year’s greetings video on the Publicis Groupe YouTube channel.

In his 2013 wishes to all employees worldwide Lévy has made an effort to cut down his speech, as in the past they have been a little on the long side.

This year’s video greeting comes with a difference as when the viewer skips forward, as everyone does, Lévy immediately stops his speech and starts shuffling through his cards to find the part of the speech the viewer wants to jump to. Just one of the many human interpretations of the standard YouTube functionality taken for granted today.

The video also comes with plenty of viewer surprises, for example changing the volume gives the viewer four different versions of the speech (shouting, normal, whisper, and Bob Dylan style mute), and changing the video quality results in six or seven hands doing a live change of Lévy’s office décor.

When the video is paused Lévy keeps himself busy with a range of activities from dusting Cannes Lions, playing PacMan, watching YouTube, and recording a new message for the Publicis Groupe answering machine.
