The NUJ has revealed that it is seeking to reduce postage costs of its magazine, The Journalist.
In an email to members, the NUJ asked if some would prefer receiving the magazine as an online edition, in order to cut down on these postage costs.
Michelle Stanistreet, general secretary, said: “The union's executive council believes that this economy is worth trying for, say, a year, after which its effectiveness would be reviewed, with particular attention to its impact on union communication and overall NUJ identity. I must emphasise that there is absolutely no attempt intended to pressurise any member to stop receiving The Journalist by post.”
This comes only days after it was revealed that the NUJ has voted to increase its subscription rate; coming into effect from November.
