The next issue of The Drum, published tomorrow, will carry the results of The Drum Grand Prix, for the most awarded agencies of 2012.
IAS b2b Marketing was revealed as number one agency and therefore the recipient of the first Hatstand Award.
The Hatstand will be awarded each year to the agency which performs best across The Drum's various award schemes. The beautiful wrought iron sculpture was handmade by eminent artist John Creed, who is also the father of Turner Prize-winning Martin Creed.
To quantify the merits of each of The Drum's award schemes and rank the achievements of winning companies, a scoring rubric took into account the regional or national nature of schemes, the number of entries in a show, and the number of awards at which an agency was successful.
Based on this system IAS b2b Marketing scored 259 points, with the agency’s trophy cabinet boasting trophies from Chip Shop Awards, Roses Creative Awards, MiAwards, UK Event Awards, Drum Marketing Awards and the RAR Awards.
In second place was Big Communications with 153 points and awards won at Chip Shop Awards, Cream Midland Awards, DADI Awards, RAR Awards, Recruitment Business Awards, Roses Creative Awards.
1000heads, UM London and The Leith Agency took joint third place, each gathering 150 points during 2012.
The full results can be found in the 4 January issue of The Drum.
