Ve Interactive has become the first online efficiency company to offer complete basket abandonment, cart recovery and re-marketing solutions to the Chinese e-commerce market by launching its eight office in Shanghai.
This is Ve Interactive's second BRIC office, following the opening of Ve Brasil in Sao Paulo last year and it will be lead by Internet entrepreneur, Philipp Georgi, who moved to Shanghai five years ago to successfully establish operations for Axel Springer. He subsequently went on to form Supersonic Ventures in order to capitalise on the many Internet opportunities emerging across China.
Some of those same investments have now become major Chinese online retailers and his valuable experience in Chinese e-commerce will be highly beneficial in helping Ve Interactive respond effectively to the online efficiency needs of the territory.
A fluent Chinese speaker, Philipp will lead a team of local staff in Shanghai to bring Ve Interactive products and services to market in China, in what could become one of Ve Interactive’s largest international operations. The company already tracked £980.42 billion in attempted online transactions globally in 2012 and has a raft of industry awards to its name.
Philipp said: “The Chinese Internet economy is growing faster than anywhere in the world. However, it is vital to be based in the country, with Chinese staff interfacing with local clients here and that is what Ve Interactive can now fully provide.”
In the UK, Nita Ho has been appointed Chinese Territory Operations Manager. Based in Ve Interactive’s London HQ, Nita will serve a key role in supporting the Shanghai office, with her own team providing Cantonese and Mandarin production & tech support, to enable them to integrate fully within Ve Interactive's operation. This structure will also create additional business development opportunities:
“Nita’s team will also enable us to assist UK online clients who wish to commence doing business in China too,” explained Mark Hargreaves, chief operating officer, Ve Interactive UK. "Cross border commerce is an area that we are already working in and with our Chinese operation now open, we can now include this as a seamless possibility for our clients too."
To date Ve Interactive had been successfully serving Chinese clients from London and David Brown, founder & CEO of Ve Interactive, is delighted to now evolve this into a much larger opportunity:
"I am thrilled that we have attracted someone of Philipp’s caliber to lead Ve Interactive’s expansion into China," he said. "We are looking forward to working with his talented team in this exciting and fast-developing market. The Chinese believe that the number 8 is very lucky, so it’s a happy irony therefore that Ve China is our eighth operation worldwide and launched today, on January 8th too. We therefore hope that this will bring the team there much good fortune in their operations going forward!"
