Twitter apologises over ‘human error’ after broadcasting porn to users

Social media darling Twitter has been left with egg on its face after its much heralded new video service, Vine, selected pornographic footage as its ‘editors pick’ less than a week after it was launched.

This resulted in a six second skin flick being disseminated to millions of micro-bloggers, many of whom unwittingly clicked on the preferred link due to the apparent impeachable nature of the message bearer.

In consequence many viewers were left frantically scrabbling to close down the explicit content as it started playing on their home or office PC’s – or on the train.

A Twitter spokesperson said: “A spokesman said: “A human error resulted in a video with adult content becoming one of the videos in editor’s picks, and upon realising this mistake we removed the video immediately. We apologise to our users for the error.”
