Android has increased its share in the UK by 10%, while Blackberry slips

In the UK, Android’s market share has increased by 10 per cent, leading to the network placing second behind Apple in a survey by iCrossing UK.

The research discovered that Blackberry has slipped down to third place in the UK, having dropped 11 per cent market share in the past 12 months.

Research and insight analyst Gregory Lyons found that not only had Android expanded it’s market share in the UK, it had also done this worldwide, increasing its share by 14 per cent.

The figures found that there was a huge increase in the Android market in BRIC regions, such as Brazil (26 per cent) and China (50 per cent).

Lyons found that Apple saw in second place with 26 per cent of the market, while Nokia came in third with 22 per cent.
