Red Bull Records artist Itch has created 65 limited edition hand-drawn USB versions of his new album, which will be launched in stores across the UK on Friday 8 February.
The flash drive copies of ‘Manifesto Part 2: We’re All In The Gutter’ were created by Itch along with the Uprising Creative team. Each USB forms part of a larger, complete artwork which was created with black marker and spray paint before being divided into smaller fragments.
Five USB’s will be for sale in each of the 13 specially selected locations.
Itch commented: “Artists these days are constantly looking for new ways to promote their work in genuinely interesting ways whilst also rewarding the most loyal fans. This piece of artwork makes the album truly unique, but part of a bigger jigsaw that other fans will also own as a collective.”
Uprising Creative’s Tom Welsh, added: “With the decline of high street music stores, innovative campaigns like these are essential for promoting independent music releases. Working with Itch was a great way to produce genuinely desirable content for his fans.”
Itch’s hand-drawn album art creative comes shortly after The Drum pondered if the demise of HMV could signal the end of original album art.
