D Love returns for new BBC and Digital Radio UK campaign 'Endless Dove' from RKCR/Y&R

The BBC and Digital Radio UK have revealed their latest ad featuring diminutive new star of digital radio D Love, entitled ‘Endless Dove’.

Created by RKCR/Y&R, the new ad shows D Love serenading his new love up and coming talent Phebe Edwards, however, as the story progresses it becomes clear where D Love’s real affections lie – with his dove.

Introduced in November 2012, D Love was created by Algy Sharman, Al Brown and ECD Toby Talbot, along with Peter Martin, directors at Sweet Shop and model makers Millennium FX. His faithful pet dove is played by a real life pigeon that has been reared around the puppet since it was a chick.

The campaign consists of three TV sports, interviews with D Love’s dove, posters, online banners, in store activity, digital radio guides, and radio ads which will be aired across the BBC Radio network and on over 60 commercial radio stations.

An accompanying music video was recorded in the world famous Sarm studios where Band Aid’s “Do they know it’s Christmas?” was filmed, with Edwards using the same piano Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody on.

Production was handled by Red Bee Media/The Sweet Shop with The Mill handling post production.
