SiS (Science in Sport) has today announced the appointments of Sir Chris Hoy and Helen Jenkins as brand ambassadors.
SiS provides nutritional products for preparation, performance and recovery to help endurance athletes perform at their best.
Stephen Moon, managing director at SiS said: "Sir Chris is without doubt one of the world’s best athletes and truly epitomises what SiS is all about. Having used our products as an integral part of his nutrition ritual for a number of years, we are delighted to announce this new partnership. We are very proud of Chris and his achievements and it’s a major honour to have him as a sporting ambassador.
“We are delighted to announce this new partnership and to be working with Helen Jenkins as SiS becomes an integral part of her endurance nutrition ritual. Helen is an incredibly dedicated and talented athlete who has proven her pedigree on the international stage. Her passion and motivation for sport is inspiring and we felt that her insight into the world of endurance training and sports nutrition would both inform and motivate the thousands of amateur athletes in the UK."
Hoy said: "Nutrition plays a huge part in how well I do on the track, in the gym and out training on the roads so to be the best I can be, I need to use the best nutrition possible. I have used SiS products for many years and I’m looking forward to working with them to further develop this area of my preparation and recovery. The credibility of the science and their innovative approach is the reason I chose to partner with Science in Sport. Working closely with SiS to manage my hydration and energy levels gives me confidence that my nutrition is tailored to my specific needs whether I am in training or competition."
Triathlete Jenkins said: "Having the support of SiS throughout my training and competition schedule will help to fuel my performance, and I'm really excited to be a part of the SiS team. Competing at London 2012 was amazing and despite not having achieved the result I had hoped for, I learnt a lot from the experience. I now have my sights set on the Commonwealth Games in two years’ time and then Rio in 2016, and I am very excited about SiS being a part of this journey with me."
The role will see the pair make appearances to help promote the brand’s range of endurance nutrition products, as well as appearing on the SiS website and providing relevant content for use on the brand’s social media channels.
