Kraft Foods has employed Susan Boyle, The Village People, Lance Bass (of 90s boyband N’Sync fame) and 80s pop star Tiffany for its new ad campaign promoting Miracle Whip, the salad cream that “possesses a texture like mayonnaise”.
The ad was launched to its US audience during the Grammy awards on Sunday (10 February) and sees Susan et al singing a specially written song about Miracle Whip, asking people to “open your minds, open your mouths.”
The brand states on its YouTube channel: "A lot of people say they hate us without ever trying us. And that’s wrong, like saying two plus two is 17B
"It’s why we want you, and everyone, to keep an open mouth. Try us, then form your own opinion. And then let everyone else know.”
Speaking on the ad, the Scottish star said: “It was a bit of a giggle taking part. It was fun to sing alongside people like Lance Bass and the Village People.”
