The Fairtrade Foundation has launched its 2013 Fairtrade Fortnight campaign ‘Go Further’ with a raft of celebrity supporters.
Jonathan Ross, Bruce Forsyth, Louis Smith and Dermot O’Leary are just some of the famous faces supporting the campaign, created by Kaper and Kream, which will see three-inch paper versions of the stars join a march on Parliament on Monday 4 March.
Those who support the petition will be able to create their own paper protester, courtesy of Foldable.Me. Every digital signature received will be turned into a character that will join in with the march.
“This Fortnight we wanted to do something a bit different. Our march on Parliament is an engaging way for everyone to go further to help smallholder farmers combat unfair trade practices,” commented Cheryl McGechie, director of public engagement for the Fairtrade Foundation.
Fairtrade Fortnight ambassador, Levi Roots, added: “After visiting Fairtrade cocoa farmers in Ghana, this cause is very close to my heart. I’m sending a mini Levi to join the march because more needs to be done to improve the working conditions and pay for the people that produce our food.”
