Nearly a third of all radio listening has been through digital means, according to Ofcom’s annual Digital Radio Report.
The report has found that 29.5 per cent of radio listening came through a digital platform, but also discovered that TV and online was the most popular means of digital listening, at 64.9 per cent.
Sales of DAB radios are also unlikely to grow, with 17 per cent of respondents saying that were not planning on buying a unit in the next year. Another 31 per cent responded that they were ‘unlikely’ or ‘very unlikely’ to buy one.
It was also discovered that four in 10 households owned a DAB radio, with the over half of homes in Surrey found to own one (54.4 per cent).
