Lord Sugar has been dragged into a bitter courtroom battle with one of his former protégés who is suing for constructive dismissal after losing a £100k job with the businessman.
Stella English, winner of the 2010 run of hit show The Apprentice, alleges that Lord Sugar failed to properly engage her during her brief employment by the combative businessman, claiming that he told her during one meeting: “I only do it for the PR and the BBC. I don't give a s***.”
Sugar hit back however claiming that English was ‘cold’, ‘suspicious’ and full of ‘very odd conspiracy theories’.
The pair faced off against each other in court to trade the insults with English breaking out into bouts of tears and Sugar interjecting with muttered disagreements.
English lasted just five months in her role at IT firm Viglen, departing under a cloud after complaining that bosses treated her like an ‘overpaid lackey’.
