UK shopping centre asset manager, Vale Retail has partnered with Mobileweb Company to develop and launch a string of mobile optimised websites to enable shoppers to view and interact with its shopping centres across the UK.
The first sites to be released are for the Whitgift centre in Croydon and The Cornbow centre in Halesowen. Mobileweb Company used its mobile publishing platform, m.Discovery, to provide features for the sites including geo-location, mapping, directions, search capabilities, URLs and QR Codes.
The mobile sites are fully optimised to work on any mobile device and will be used to promote the shopping centres, individual stores and drive footfall. A branded service is being developed for each centre as well as a stand-alone presence created for every store.
Christopher Willans form Vale Retail, commented: “We are always looking to place our shopping centres at the forefront of innovation. This partnership with Mobileweb Company will enable all our centres to create a really customer focused, fully managed, advanced site and start to benefit from the increasing value of mobile.”
Managing director of Mobileweb Company, Martin Wilson, added: “We are proud of the platform we have developed and the potential that it offers retailers. We look forward to supporting Vale Retail in creating sites that will deliver real value to the shopping centres it manages.”
