The Times launches augmented reality video for kids to explain exactly what the Chancellor of the Exchequer does

The Times has launched an augmented reality video to explain how the UK budget works, as well as explaining exactly what the Chancellor of the Exchequer does.

Aimed at young readers, the animated video shows how finances are divided up, acting as an educational piece to help The Times’ younger readers gain a better understanding of a current and topical news story.

Readers will be able to view the video via the augmented reality app Aurasma or using a QR code that will be in The Time paper on Wednesday (20 February).

The video can also be accessed here.

Suzi Watford, The Times & The Sunday Times marketing director, said: “This is a fun way for our younger readers to get to grips with a tricky and important subject using a simple but engaging video.

“It’s also a great example of The Times using innovative technology to encourage the next generation to interact with the newspaper.”
