Channel 4 has worked with Wonder Stuff Studio as part of its new show ‘The Secret Millions’ which sees £10 million of Lottery funding being used to back radical ideas tackling some of Britain’s Big Issues.
Channel 4 contacted Wonder Stuff Studio back in October of last year as part of a brief to help ex-offenders to create high-end crafted furniture. The agency then worked alongside host Katie Piper, Acumen brand Reap + Sow and the Channel 4 crew to advise of the role of graphic design within the brands early development and listen to the difficulties faced when seeking to overcome the ‘ex-offender’ label.
Wonder Stuff Studio was then given a design brief to create a piece of print that lived up to the quality of the furniture and story of its craftsmen.
Also taking part in the show alongside Katie Piper are Gok Wan, Jimmy Doherty, Dave Fishwick and George Clarke, they will all work with charities developing new projects whilst attempting to secure £2 million of Lottery money, to turn their big idea into a reality.
Speaking via their online blog, Wonder Stuff Studio revealed: “We left them preparing for their big trip to London to pitch and have heard little since, so we’re eagerly awaiting the broadcast like the rest of you. Currently the date for this hasn’t been confirmed, but we do know that we and our design work has made the edit (we’re going to be famous!) and that the show will be on air within the next few weeks. Very exciting.”
