Domino’s Pizza’s online delivery sales figures has continued its growth trajectory with the company claiming that its e-commerce now accounts for nearly two-thirds of its UK delivery sales.
The company, in releasing its most recent quarterly figures until 31 March, has revealed that 61.9 per cent of UK delivery sales come through its online platforms, and increase from 49.8 per cent during the same period last year, with online sales up by 38.4 per cent to £82.4 million. Of that, a quarter (25.2 per cent) was taken through a mobile device, up from 16.4 per cent last year.
In January, Domino's launched an online half-price offer, while last month it released
Lance Batchelor, CEO of Domino’s Pizza Group, said that the company continued to show that there were still “significant opportunities in our core UK and Republic of Ireland markets as well as the new territories of Germany and Switzerland”.
He continued: "New product launches, a relentless focus on service, industry leading digital and online technology, an ever growing marketing budget, and a healthy pipeline of new sites are just some of the ways we continue to drive this terrific business forward.
"We know that the ongoing economic pressures are leading to a tough trading environment and we have extremely tough comps in the second quarter to overcome as well as food cost increases coming through during the year, but, with first class franchisees and a strong head office team, I expect, at this early stage in the year, that trading will be in line with market expectations for 2013."
Overall, the group has delivered sales of £164.1 million during the most recent quarter, growth of 12.3 per cent.
