The Sunday Times has confirmed it is to publish its annual Rich List on Sunday 21 April.
The 2013 supplement marks the 25th anniversary of the publication which was launched in 1989 featuring the top 200 wealthiest people in the country. Since then it has grown to cover the top 1,000 and covers the richest people in areas including sport and music, as well as the Giving List – those making the biggest donations to charity as a proportion of their wealth.
This year’s Rich List is to be supported by a marketing and communications campaign handled by tpf (the promotions|publicity factory), spanning radio, outdoor, in-paper advertising, online, print and POS, as well as PR and social media.
The 2013 Rich List advertising creative , from Grey London, charts the fortunes of some of the most famous names to have appeared on the list including Paul McCartney and Alan Sugar, who are depicted as bar graphs which measure their wealth as reported by the Rich List over the last 25 years.
The release of The Sunday Times Rich List is highly anticipated each year, and is frequently one of our biggest selling issues. Wealth is increasingly a focus of public and political debate, and we’re looking forward to adding to the discussion when we reveal Britain’s 1,000 richest people for 2013.
A series of additional lists will run in The Times and The Sunday Times the week after the Rich List’s publication to mark the 25th anniversary milestone. The additional lists cover themes such husbands and wives, politicians, and geeks, culminating with The Sunday Times Sport Rich List on Sunday 28 April.
NI Group chief executive, Mark Darcey, added: “The fact the supplement is entering its 25thyear is testament to NI Group’s continued commitment to in-depth and unrivalled journalism.”
