IPA concludes that UK Government framework tendering cost industry £11,500,000 as 231 agencies applied

The recent UK Government marketing services framework cost the industry over £11-and-a-half million to tender according to advertising body the IPA.

The framework, which saw ten agencies appointed following the lengthy process, is also understood to have seen 231 agencies apply, costing each an average of £50,000 each in company hours, the IPA has informed The Drum.

The investigation into the framework tender by the Government began in January ahead of the final announcement, which saw agencies with public sector experience such as Dare, Karmarama and Mother London appeal their absence from the final list.

The final creative framework included AMV BBDO, DLKW Lowe, Engine, Enter, Inferno, Kindred, M&C Saatchi, McCann London, Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and Ogilvy & Mather Group, while the digital roster was made up of Bray Leino, DraftFCB, Indicia, BSS, TMW and Twentysix.

The final direct marketing roster featured Bray Leino, Lateral Group, Lida and TMW.

Meanwhile, The Scottish Marketing Services Framework announcement has been delayed for a second time due to a number of agency appeals.
