PR for BBC One drama Waterloo Road will be delivered by an outside agency for the first time after London-based Wire Media won the contract for the programme.
The contract was awarded by Shed Productions after a competitive tender process and Wire will create a publicity campaign across print, broadcast and online to heighten interest in the high school drama, which has been running for nine years.
As well as projects in television and film, clients at wire include Whyte and Mackay, Vladivar Vodka and Nicola Benedetti.
Managing director at Shed Productions, Brian Park, said: "We are delighted to welcome Wire Media to the Waterloo Road family, through their Scottish and London base we are confident their creativity and energy will help maintain the show's popularity with audiences across the UK."
The filming of Waterloo Road moved from Rochdale in Greenock in the west of Scotland last year. Wire will work alongside BBC Scotland's in-house team on the project.
