Small businesses in the UK may be letting marketing slip off the radar, according to an infographic.
The small business sector in the UK is losing out on up to £122bn in sales by allowing their marketing plans to slip off the radar, according to research by Pitney Bowes and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).
The study of 514 small business respondents found that the average SME only achieves 39 per cent of planned marketing activity. This is despite 87 per cent understanding the positive impact of marketing on their sales, and over two-thirds (77 per cent) recognising the importance of marketing to the overall success of their business.
However, over a third (36 per cent) cited budget as a reason for not doing enough marketing, while lack of time was blamed by 21 per cent.
