The New York Times has unveiled a Google Glass app which can read headlines and summaries of articles to the user, as well as alert them to any breaking stories.
The New York Times is one of the first major publishers to bring out an app for Google Glass, ahead of its general release in 2014.
However, the 8,000 people specially selected via a competition to buy Google Glass this year will be able to connect their New York Times accounts to Glass though the New York Times' Google Glass website
Danielle Rhoades Ha, director of communications for the Times, said in an email that the company is "an early tester of the Mirror API," the interface that allows developers to build apps that interact with Glass. She called the app "a lightweight service for Google Glass."
