Insurance provider Churchill has entered the record books after it successfully claimed the Guinness World Record Title for the ‘most contributions to a greeting card’ – an accolade previously held by Spiderman.
Birthday celebrations for the firm’s familiar nodding dog mascot, recognisable by the ‘Oh Yes!’ catchphrase, spurred the record bid which has netted a £2k donation to the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
The record beating card was posted online whilst a giant physical card was also despatched around the country, between them generating 4347 signatures once all had been transferred to the outsize card.
Amanda Walker, Marketing Director and personal spokesperson for Churchill, said, “Churchill has asked me to pass on his thanks to all who helped him set the new world record. Needless to say, he is thrilled that so many people got involved, and that he was able to help out his chums at Battersea at the same time.”
Simon Peck, Managing Director, WCRS said, “We've always known that Churchill is a much loved character so we thought we had a good chance of beating Spiderman! We're delighted that he has taken the record. It has been a great team effort from everyone involved."
The world record bid was dreamed up by creative agency WCRS.
