OpenCo, the organisation which asks marketers and entrepreneurs to share their knowledge by opening the doors to their businesses, has announced it will be hosting a ‘festival of innovation’ in London this summer.
Run in partnership with Le Web 2013 and backed by the Mayor of London, OpenCo London will kick off on 7 June with events taking place across the capital.
Google Campus, Spotify, Songkick, Absolute Radio, YouTube, Clear Channel UK, London Business School (LBS) and Central St Martin’s are amongst the first companies to sign up as Host Co’s.
Each organisation will be open its doors for a free 45 minute session, allowing Londoners to come to the workspace, 'get behind the curtain' and learn more.
OpenCo founder John Battelle commented on the scheme: “There’s no better way to learn about innovation than up close and personal in its native habitat – and that’s what OpenCo London is all about. We want to give people the opportunity to hear from some of the most talented business minds out there and see some of the city’s most dynamic work environments.”
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, added: “One of London’s key economic success stories has been the incredible growth of high tech and digital industries, notably within the dynamic Tech City cluster.
“Throwing open the doors of these enterprises is a great way for enterprises big and small to foster collaboration and build links with their communities. OpenCo is a great concept and I hope it will be a huge success.”
