Google Glass, the hi-tech specs Google hopes will change the world, are to go on public display at the search giants annual conference on software developers.
It will be the first time that the new hardware has been put on public display and is expected to be a major draw for the firm as thousands of delegates queue for their first taste of the gadget.
Access to the product thus far has been limited to a small number of ‘Explorers’ who have each stumped up £980 for the privilege of donning a pair.
The device incorporates a small voice activated screen placed above the right eye and enables the wearer to find directions, search the web and read emails and messages.
Google chief executive Eric Schmidt has suggested the gadget could be made available commercially next year.
