A Thomas Cook ad, which showed a man using a pair of pliers to remove an air valve and deflate a coach tyre so that he could stay on holiday has been banned by the ASA.
The advert, which was still online at the time of writing, was banned by the ASA following 32 complaints that it was irresponsible and likely to cause harmful emulation among children.
In total, 118 complaints were made against the ad, but suggestions that it encouraged crime or anti-social behaviour, or behaviours prejudicing health and safety were declined by the ASA.
The ad was cleared by Clearcast with an ex-kids restriction, which meant it should not be shown in or around programmes made for, or specifically targeted at, children.
