Obama found to be leveraging Twitter twice as effectively as Romney

The presidency may still be up for grabs but one race in which Barack Obama is the undisputed winner is in the social media realm, according to a new infographic from HavasMedia.

It reveals that voters are twice as likely to receive information about the presidential incumbent via Twitter than his challenger with Brand Obama also dubbed more ‘meaningful’ than brand Romney.

Despite both candidates being roughly neck and neck in the real world, in the virtual world Obama enjoys a 16% advantage over Romney, with 50% of voters feeling more favourably inclined toward the Democrat whilst just 36% favour the Republican.

It’s not all good news for Obama however, the pollsters found that neither hopeful has convinced voters that they can improve their quality of life and wellbeing.
