M&C Saatchi has announced Asli Azizoglu as the winner of its Brutal Simplicity of Thought competition for her ‘Pencil’ design.
Azizoglu will receive a three month paid internship at M&C Saatchi as a prize, having beaten hundreds of other entries.
The brief had been to communicate the belief that it is ‘easier to complicate than to simplify’ and simple ideas ‘enter the world quicker and stay there longer.’
Jeremy Sinclair, chairman of M&C Saatchi, said: “We’ve been delighted with the response to the Brutal Simplicity of Thought competition. The quality of creative talent has been exceptional, providing beautiful, inspiring, first-rate material for the second edition of the book.
“Asli’s submission resonated simplicity. It was interesting, thought provoking and made you look at a rubber or eraser in a way you hadn’t before. In many of the submissions we found very intriguing thoughts and it is clear that the future of our industry has a wealth of creative brains to choose from.”
Liam Burrell came second for ‘Dreaming’, while Mandy Saggu and Samantha Carter came joint third for ‘Why me?’ and ‘Watch’.
