Trinity Mirror has moved to scotch recent claims of alleged wrongdoing by its journalists, by pointing out that no such claims have yet been served, nor have the details of any pending claims been made known to it, in its interim management statement.
In a ‘put up or shut up’ move Trinity has now issued notices requiring claim forms to be served in a bid to draw the episode to a close.
Trinity has also moved to stress that it has, as yet, made no formal offer for a minority interest in a new company comprising the assets of Northcliffe Media and lliffe News and Media.
The publisher has been hit by a 12% drop in its national newspaper revenue whilst revenue at its ad Venezuela division slipped by 9% over the 17 week period leading up to November, although it does expect this situation to improve once Christmas gets into gear.
Trinity also reported an uptick in its digital performance, rising 8% to £14m over the period.
