Ofcom has confirmed it will not proceed with an investigation into Sky News presenter Kay Burley over the controversial interview in which she told volunteers live on camera that police did not expect to find the child alive.
More than 300 viewers complained about the interview, aired on October 5, in which Burley pushed for a response despite the volunteer being visibly upset at the news.
Labour MP Tom Watson, a member of the culture committee, was among many to complain about Burley's approach, saying it was "insensitive bordering on cruel".
However, Ofcom has decided that there was no clear breach of the broadcasting rules and so the situation does not warrant a more in-depth investigation.
